RIDING ON THE NORTH WIND

(Jan 29, 2005)

Oh the night was cold & cloudy, the rain blew in my eyes
Thunder broke the silence and the lightning lit the skies
From the ground to the horizon there was nothing there at all
Up above the heavens clashed like the sky was gonna fall
As I looked for cover I watched a spark flash by
I thought I saw an angel in the corner of the sky
Riding on the north wind

I had a dream when I was young, I was walking down the street
Jumped up high and I sailed away and I never found my feet
As I flew above the city, the world was getting small
All at once I felt the chill and I thought that I might fall
I looked into the whiteness, tried to find a way to land
& suddenly beside me, I felt the angel take my hand
Riding on the north wind

Sometimes we get lonely, sometimes we all cry
Sometimes we all need to see an angel passing by...

Take me quiet to the mountaintop and we'll look into the sky
Hold my hand and watch with me as the clouds go floating by
One looks like a castle, one looks like a dream
One looks like a stallion, but they're not always what they seem
Look above the clouds at the ending of the light
And don't you blink, or you might miss the angel in the night
